You’re probably thinking I’m crazy after seeing the title of this post, but hear me out. I occasionally see posts from influencers that focus on chronic illness awareness. Some of them can sum up what living with a chronic illness feels like in ways that I can’t. And some of them bring forth ideas or questions that I want to elaborate on based on my own experiences.
One influencer broke down their illness if it were a coffee, which I think is a great and easy way to simplify something that is complicated. So, with the help of my husband’s graphic design talents, I decided to create my own variation in the form of a latte for you:

Of course, just like making a coffee beverage, the “ingredients” are interchangeable depending on my “good” and bad days. I might have more of one and less of another. I might even lack one or have the addition of a whole new one.
Chronic illnesses are more than what they seem at face value. There are layers and layers of symptoms, most of which you won’t see. But their impact is just as strong as the illness itself, sometimes more.
